The philosophy of our herb kitchen – and how it all started

Restaurant Liebstöckl is the brainchild of the Platzer family, proprietors of the Kräuterhotel Hochzillertal***S. Over 10 years ago the traditional business built up by the parents of chef Michael was transformed into a herbal restaurant. The motto “Recuperate with the power of the Alps” inspires all those who want to have an unforgettable holiday enjoying alpine herbs.

Our philosophy rests on four pillars:

  • REJUVINATION – Our exercise programme in the middle of nature, at the heart of the Zillertal Alps

It’s precisely this ENJOYMENT which guests come to expect. As holder of the award Bewusst Tirol and the AMA-Gastrosiegels we only use homemade, wholesome products which are free from genetically-modified foodstuffs and you can certainly taste it. There’s a lot more besides the herb garden and preparation done in the hotel: the meat from the local butcher, dairy products from the Zillertal alpine dairy, home cured bacon, an inexhaustible selection of local herbal schnapps, liquors and teas. All of it adds up to satisfied guests who have nothing but praise for our cuisine. Their compliments motivate us to expand our herbal concept with choice and extraordinary herbal dishes in our á la carte restaurant, washed down by a selection of finest Austrian wines - All with a regional touch!
